Vision & Values 2016 - Purpose and Values
- 5 Purposes of the Church
- Church Core Values
WORSHIPING - Active in Devotion to God
Psalms 63:2-4 So here I am in the place of worship, eyes open, drinking in your strength and glory. In your generous love I am really living at last! My lips brim praises like fountains I bless you every time I take a breath; My arms wave like banners of praise to you.
REACHING - Active in Extending the Truth in Love
Romans 15:7 So reach out and welcome one another to God’s glory. Jesus did it; now you do it!
GROWING - Active in Maturing in Christ
2 Peter 3:18 Grow in grace and understanding of our Master and Savior, Jesus Christ. Glory to the Master, now and forever! Yes!
CARING- Active in Building Up One Another
Philippians 2:1-4 If you’ve gotten anything at all out of following Christ, if his love has made any difference in your life, if being in a community of the Spirit means anything to you, if you have a heart, if you care— then do me a favor: Agree with each other, love each other, be deep-spirited friends. Don’t push your way to the front; don’t sweet-talk your way to the top. Put yourself aside, and help others get ahead. Don’t be obsessed with getting your own advantage. Forget yourselves long enough to lend a helping hand.
SERVING - Active in Birthing the Next Generation
Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 It’s better to have a partner than go it alone. Share the work, share the wealth. And if one falls down, the other helps, But if there’s no one to help, tough!
Colossians 3:17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
1 John 1:7-8 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all[a] sin.8 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.
Hebrews 13:21 equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
Hebrews 10:24 Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works.
Galatians 6:10 every time we get the chance, let us work for the benefit of all, starting with the people closest to us in the community of faith.
